Computer systems engineers are in high demand, nationally and internationally.
This degree will give you the engineering ability and managerial business knowledge to succeed in a wide range of fields. Your studies will have the distinct mix of electrical engineering and computer science needed to develop computer hardware and software.
Not only will you understand how computer systems work, but also how they fit in to and can be applied in many different contexts – from manufacturing and construction to defence.
This course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), so what you learn is relevant to the workplace. Graduation from this degree partially satisfies the educational base for Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, with a period of accredited further learning.
Progress to an integrated Masters course
You may have the opportunity to progress to the MEng course which combines the undergraduate degree (BEng) with a Masters-level qualification.
The additional year gives you higher technical knowledge, and allows you to apply what you’ve already learned to an individual project. You enrol on the undergraduate degree, and have the opportunity to progress to an MEng if you achieve satisfactory grades in your assessments during your first two years of study.
